Thrust from her life into an unfamiliar world, Amanda must redefine her perception of the world around her, exploring neurological processes and quantum uncertainty in the process in this unusual film.
Marlee Matlin (Amanda), Elaine Hendrix (Jennifer), John Bowie (Elliot), Robert Bailey Jr. (Reggie), Barry Newman (Frank), Larry Brandenburg (Bruno), Robert Blanche (Bob), Pavel Mikoloski (Priest).
What the *bleep* Do We Know!? Begins by asking the questions; What is reality? Is it possible there are multiple realities existing alongside one another? From there the film shifts to a series of short interview blurbs with quantum physics experts mixed with scenes apparently intended to express and explore our perceptions and reality. Unfortunately it also seems to take those interviews, possibly out of context, with the intent of legitimizing the creators views which in this case seem to be those of fringe spiritualist J.Z. Knight. The result is a film which twists quantum physics for its own purposes rather than a documentary exploration as advertised.
Acting was mediocre at best and we can only hope the actors didn't realize what they were making.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were interesting and entertaining when removed from the fact twisting perspective of the film. Dialogue was mainly in the form of interviews or narration. Sound and soundtrack are solid.
What the *bleep* Do We Know!? while being somewhat entertaining should not be confused with a documentary or factual exploration of quantum physics. It would be better approached as entertainment with the intent of generating more questions. Take this one with the hallucinogenic of choice for best results.
With some mild sexuality, this should be fine for teens and above.
