After spending the night with a beautiful woman who bites him on the neck, Peter awakens convinced he is a vampire. Embracing the idea, his behavior becomes more and more erratic.
Nicolas Cage (Peter), Maria Alonso (Alva), Jennifer Beals (Rachel), Elizabeth Ashley (Dr. Glaser), Kasi Lemmons (Jackie), Jessica Lundy (Sharon), David Pierce (Theater Guy), Michael Knowles (Andrew), John Higgins (Ed).
Vampire's Kiss starts off looking like something of a mess, which is quickly confirmed. As a friend said, the only reason to watch this is to see Nicholas Cage walking around with plastic vampire teeth thinking he is a vampire. Between that, the cheesy love scenes with Beals wearing pasties, and Cage's random accent the film has few redeeming qualities.
Acting was as much a mess as the storyline. Though humor was attempted, it was largely a failure delivered with bad timing and little energy.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds are pretty much B-movie fodder lacking depth or a solid feel. Action scenes are somewhat infantile. Dialogue is campy, corny, and lacking depth. Sound and soundtrack are mediocre at best.
Overall, unless you absolutely cannot get enough Nicolas Cage, don't throw away 103 minutes of your life.
With some sexuality, violence, gore, and foul language, save this one for older teens and above.
