In biblical times a Neanderthal and his friend are kicked out of their village for eating the forbidden fruit. Searching for a new home, the two end up in Sodom where their clan is now enslaved, and will try anything to save them.
Jack Black (Zed), Michael Cera (Oh), Oliver Platt (High Priest), David Cross (Cain), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Isaac), Vinnie Jones (Sargon), Hank Azaria (Abraham), Juno Temple (Eema), Olivia Wilde (Inanna).
Prehistoric hunter Zed eats fruit from the forbidden tree and along with his friend is banished from his tribe. Traveling through biblical times, the two encounter characters such as Cain, Abel, and Abraham. Eventually ending up in Sodom, where their tribe is being enslaved, the two try to save them leading to plenty of laughs along the way.
Acting was enjoyable with Black delivering his usual style of comedy helped along by Cera, who also delivered well. Platt and Cross were both hysterical as usual and added good humor to the film. Azaria, Temple, and the remainder of the supporting cast were solid.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were fun and enjoyable throughout. Dialogue kept the laughs coming through the end. Sound and soundtrack are mild but good.
With plenty of sexuality and humor, comedic violence and gore, and foul language, this should be fine for teens and above.
