In this special, Ellen recounts events in her life and career which have led to her popularity. With lessons learned along the way we get a picture of the person that is Ellen.
Not a huge Ellen fan myself, I was pleasantly surprised with this special. Ellen is personable and keeps the audience fairly well engaged with her storytelling style. Her stories are enjoyable and funny throughout. The bonus Q&A at the end was a great way to end the special.
Camera work and stage setting is well done. Integration with videos and pictures fit the stand-up theme nicely and added fun depth. Dialogue was enjoyable, as was sound and soundtrack.
Ellen, or stand-up comedy, fans should enjoy this one.
With a grand total of one cuss word, this should be fine for teens and above.
