Jon Favreau (Kyle), Leland Orser (Charles), Cameron Diaz (Laura), Christian Slater (Robert), Jeremy Piven (Michael), Daniel Stern (Adam), Jeanne Tripplehorn (Lois).
Things go seriously wrong when Kyle and his friends go to Vegas for his bachelor party. With fiance Laura hounding Kyle to help plan the perfect wedding even while in Vegas, that is the least of his problems when one of his friends accidentally kills a prostitute. And when the cover-up and guilt start to fester it can't get much worse.
This one launches with some decent humor and background before the plot gets moving. Once that happens the comedy of errors is on a roll that can't be stopped. With moments of dark humor punctuated by action there aren't a lot of slow scenes through the rest of the film as the plot twists and turns as things seem to just get worse and worse. That's saying a lot after seeing a body cut up with a sawzall! Top it all off with a deliciously ironic ending and you can't help but enjoy this film on some level.
Acting was pretty good by everyone involved. Slater does a great job as a nutball while Diaz is wonderful as the dominant, insistent, mildly fixated bride to be. Piven, Stern, Orser and Tripplehorn all give good performances as well.
Camera work, sets, background, sound and dialogue were all nicely done indicating a film with a good budget.
Overall this was a very entertaining dark comedy with solid, if not unique, plot supported by good actors putting forth nicely done performances. If you like a bit of dark humor this is an excellent choice. If you aren't a genre fan a lot of the film will most likely be lost on you or even offensive.
Plenty of violence, blood and gore, drug use, foul language, and fairly explicit sexuality so save this one for adults and above.
